The Prince and Princess of Wales ended their recent social media silence by sharing a personal message following a major success at the Winter Olympics.
The royal couple publicly backed Team GB after the men’s curling team secured a place in the gold medal final. In a tense semi-final against Switzerland, Bruce Mouat, Grant Hardie, Hammy McMillan Jr and Bobby Lammie claimed victory with an 8–5 score at Milano Cortina.
With the win, the team advanced to the final, where they will compete against Canada for the gold medal on Saturday. Ahead of the highly anticipated match, William and Kate sent their best wishes.
They commented: Best of luck in the final Bruce, Grant, Hammy and Bobby! We will be cheering you on, signing off with their initials, “W & C.”

William and Kate’s public message on social media was shared just one day after Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on Thursday morning on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
William’s father, King Charles III, responded to the development with an official statement, expressing his deepest concern.

William and Kate’s curling connection
Before the Winter Olympics began, the Prince and Princess of Wales spent time with members of Team GB’s men’s and women’s curling squads. Two weeks prior to the Games, the couple visited Scotland’s National Curling Academy in Stirling, where they were given a tour of the facility.
During the visit, they even stepped onto the ice with Scottish curler Jen Dodds and her mixed-doubles partner, Bruce Mouat — who has since secured a place in the men’s final.
Speaking exclusively to HELLO!, Jen and Bruce reflected on meeting the royals. Bruce, 31, admitted: I was starstruck, to be honest. They walked into the ice rink just like two normal people would.

He went on to describe the experience as memorable and meaningful, saying it was a privilege to meet the royal couple and receive their encouragement ahead of the competition.
As he said: It was so cool, having the Prince and Princess shaking hands with us, chatting and wishing us good luck. I thought it was really special that they came along and I was honoured to have the opportunity to teach them how to curl.
Jen added that the Prince and Princess appeared slightly apprehensive when stepping onto the ice, which she noted was completely understandable for beginners.
She said: You could tell they were a wee bit nervous. Obviously, it’s not normal to slide about on the ice, but for a first attempt, they both did very well. I was impressed by both of them.

Other sport ties
William and Kate also serve as patrons of another major sport — rugby. Since 2022, Kate has held the role of Royal Patron of both the Rugby Football Union and the Rugby Football League, while William has been Royal Patron of the Welsh Rugby Union since 2016.
Ahead of the England vs Wales Six Nations clash earlier this month, the couple posted a joint message wishing both sides success before the match at Twickenham.
They wrote: Wishing the best of luck to England and Wales Rugby as they go head to head at Twickenham today in the Men’s Six Nations Championship.
The message, shared on their joint Instagram account, continued: As patrons of both unions respectively…May the best team win [trophy emoji]. W&C.
England ultimately secured a dominant victory, defeating Wales 48–7.
