Prince William Breaks Silence on Prince Harry Meeting After Palace Announcement

Prince William has effectively put an end to speculation over whether he might meet with Prince Harry during the Duke of Sussex’s upcoming visit to the UK.

Harry is due to return to Britain next week to give evidence as part of his legal case against the publisher of the Daily Mail, Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL).

The case is scheduled to get underway on Monday, January 19, with Harry expected to take the witness stand in London on Thursday, January 22.

It has been widely reported that his older brother, Prince William, will not be in England at the time of the Duke of Sussex’s visit.

Next Tuesday, Prince William and Kate Middleton will travel to Scotland for an away day, where they are set to meet the Team GB and Paralympics GB curling teams ahead of the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Stirling.

However, the heir’s schedule for Thursday — the day Harry is due to give evidence — had remained uncertain.

That has now been clarified, after Kensington Palace announced that Prince William will be spending the day in Bristol, carrying out a series of engagements connected to causes that are particularly close to his heart.

According to the announcement, the Prince’s visit to Bristol will focus on highlighting the city throughout January, with an emphasis on “trailblazing achievements in sustainability and its role as a driving force for innovation in the UK.”

Prince William is set to visit Matter, a finalist for the Earthshot Prize 2025, where he will learn more about the company’s pioneering filtration technology aimed at stopping microplastics from reaching rivers and oceans.

During the visit, William will meet the start-up’s team and is expected to take part in a practical demonstration of Matter’s household filtration system, which can be installed in washing machines to capture damaging microfibres.

The Prince launched the Earthshot Prize in 2020 with the goal of identifying, supporting and accelerating bold solutions to help restore the planet.

Meanwhile, King Charles III is also expected to be in Scotland next week, further reducing the likelihood of any reunion between father and son.

According to The Telegraph, the Duke is said to have “no plans” to meet his father during his time in the UK.
