Princess Kate Caught Sprinting in Heels During Quick Detour on Royal Duty

Kate Middleton earned praise for her “perfect poise” this week after seemingly defying expectations by running effortlessly in heels. The Princess of Wales, 44, was visiting Scotland with her husband, Prince William, as the couple carried out a series of three engagements across the country.

Following a visit to Radical Weavers, a handweaving studio and charity in Stirling, Kate delighted onlookers when she appeared to dash past her security team to greet waiting royal fans.

The spontaneous moment saw the Princess hurry over to speak with members of the crowd — made even more impressive by the fact that she was wearing navy heeled boots, believed to be by Gianvito Rossi. After accepting a bouquet, Kate could be heard saying, “I appreciate it, thank you. Bye bye, everyone!”

Although the moment lasted only a few seconds, it quickly caught the attention of royal watchers online. Fans took to social media to share their admiration, with one person writing: “You see someone and you just know they’re God’s favourite child because how does she have perfect poise even while running in heels?”

Another admirer added: “She is just amazing,” while someone else joked that Kate Middleton was “getting her workout in” thanks to her heeled boots. Others described the gesture as “so gracious” and “sweet,” praising her natural warmth and ease.

Kate also wore a blue tartan coat, which Kensington Palace confirmed was by London-based tailor Chris Kerr with cloth woven by Johnstons of Elgin.

Kate Middleton is seldom spotted without a chic pair of stilettos — although she did sensibly switch into practical Tod’s boots for her curling attempt at the National Curling Academy on Tuesday.

Her shoe collection has become the stuff of legend, featuring coveted designers such as Chanel and Jimmy Choo — and, remarkably, she appears capable of doing just about anything while wearing them. The Princess even stepped out in heels shortly after giving birth to Prince Louis in 2018, choosing a pair of Gianvito Rossi pumps to present her newborn to the world on the steps of the iconic Lindo Wing.

Over the years, she has also been seen playing football, hockey and volleyball in heels — and even walking across grass without sinking into the mud — further cementing her reputation for effortless poise and balance.

In October, the Princess once again went viral on social media during a visit to RAF Coningsby, after she was seen carefully descending a narrow set of stairs backwards — all while wearing heels. She completed the manoeuvre with ease in her four-inch stilettos, even leaning in to inspect a fully armed Quick Reaction Alert Typhoon without missing a beat.

Elsewhere during Tuesday’s visit, Kate Middleton and Prince William began their day at the National Curling Academy before stopping by Radical Weavers. They later travelled to The Gothenburg, a pub in the former mining village of Fallin, around four miles east of Stirling, for the third and final engagement of their trip.

During the visit, Prince William shared his fondness for pubs, saying he “absolutely loves pubs” and is keen to support them. After learning about the role the pub plays within the community, he added: “It’s crucial. It’s the human-to-human contact, isn’t it, rather than just being on the phone or watching TV.”

The Gothenburg is one of a small number of so-called goth pubs, named after a Swedish model in which profits are reinvested back into the local community. While there were once around 50 such pubs, that number has now fallen to just four.
